Today, we’re delighted to share the news that Teresa Lane has joined Russell Philanthropies as a Partner. In this new role, she will help to scale the impact of our partnerships and further harness and measure our impact. As the firm continues to grow, Teresa will help us advance our mission to build a more equitable world. Her extensive experience driving impact, building coalitions, and spearheading major campaigns in the world of sustainability and environmental impact are extraordinary — we can’t wait for her to get started.

Teresa has 40 years of experience at nonprofits, startup ventures and established organizations, and she brings strong creative, analytical, and entrepreneurial abilities to her work. Her development career spans leadership roles in the environmental and higher education fields. Most recently, she put together transformational gifts and high impact land deals as Senior Vice President of Giving and Impact at The Wilderness Society, after a dozen years at The Nature Conservancy. While at Princeton University, she assisted the president in developing relationships with a suite of prospects and donors capable of making philanthropic gifts of $5 million or more.

Teresa's marketing career started as brand manager for Nestlé Waters North America, working on trademarks Poland Spring and Perrier, before moving on to lead marketing and business development for tech startups. She volunteers with The Seeing Eye organization in Morristown, N.J. as a puppy raiser. Having served on the board of The Great Swamp Watershed Association, she is now a member of its Advisory Council.

A New Jersey native with a B.A. from Princeton, Teresa lives in Basking Ridge, N.J. with her husband, two pups, and a cat. They have three adult daughters.

Welcome to Russell Philanthropies, Teresa.
